I founded Applied Tax Resource Group Inc. in 2011, and have been pleased to lead its steady growth for more than 10 years. My experience in the accounting industry spans more than two decades. Prior to launching ATRG, I worked in both corporate and public accounting. Early in my career I worked in corporate accounting where I served as Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer for two divisions of the InterPublic Group of Companies, a Fortune 500 company.
I’m a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, am authorized to practice before the Internal Revenue Service as an Enrolled Agent, and am also a Fellow of the National Tax Practice Institute. I earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a Masters of Accounting degree from the University of Southern California.
I’m pleased to sponsor and co-chair the Bookkeepers Group of San Diego, comprised of bookkeepers and tax preparers seeking continuing education, information sharing and camaraderie. Our monthly events are open to all industry professionals, with annual memberships encouraged.

Kim Harris-Mukherjee | Senior Tax Preparer and Client Services
I’ve worked alongside CPA Dean Gilger, founder of Applied Tax Resource Group (ATRG), since 2006. ATRG celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2021, and I am proud to have been part of our firm’s first decade.
I wear many hats at ATRG. Having previously worked in the hospitality industry, I enjoy supporting our clients and guiding them through the maze of each new tax season. I am certified as an Enrolled Agent and assist in the preparation of tax returns. I also oversee special projects and administrative duties for the office.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology from San Diego State University and completed post-undergraduate education in accounting, bookkeeping and taxes. In 2014 I completed certification requirements from the California Tax Education Council (CTEC). In February 2020 I completed the Internal Revenue Enrolled Agent exam.
My husband and I are the proud parents of two young daughters who keep us busy, as do our two dogs. In my spare time I enjoy reading and gardening.
Hayde Salazar | Client Services and Bookkeeping Assistant
I am a full time student, on the Bachelor’s degree path for Accountancy. Prior to joining the team at Applied Tax Resource Group in 2021, I worked for SDSU in the payroll department. I also previously assisted in payroll for an agricultural farm labor company. I gained additional experience working with other tax firms before moving to San Diego. I am fluent in Spanish.
I serve multiple roles at ATRG including assisting the senior bookkeeper with monthly bookkeeping services, various administrative duties, and billing.
In my spare time I enjoy traveling and reading.
